It's Been A Long Week... Wednesday. 10.28.09 9:00 am I'm not going to get too much into it, mostly because it'll probably just make me way too angry right now, but it has indeed been a long week. Last Wednesday, my AWR teacher (Writing About Music) decided to write 6 out of 7 people in our class up for academic dishonesty. Why, you ask? We worked together on a homework assignment. After three and a half years of working together, they decide to tell us NOW that it's cheating? I don't think so. I'll give you the whole story some other time. The shorter version is that we're appealing this. And now I'm pretty sure I have the flu. I don't give a shit if it's swine or normal, I'm fucking sick of being sick! >:O grr. The messed up part is that I went to the health center Monday morning cuz I had a sore throat. Nothing else was wrong with me, just a bit of post nasal drip. I sat in the clinic for 3 hours (literally... 8:26a til almost 11:30a) with a room full of coughing, sneezing, mask wearing people. Now I have the flu. These masks don't do shit. So, here I am again, sitting in the health center with a room full of sick people. I've been here for one hour and 2 minutes so far... I wonder how the fuck long it'll take this time... Comment! You see, I have a bass lesson in 15 minutes that I haven't prepared for... yeah. Anyways, I have great news! An article I wrote previewing a concert being given by one of my professors is being published in the local free paper, Lake Champlain Weekly! I'm very excited about this! Dear Kristin: This is a very competently written piece -- the best I've seen so far. You have attended to all the minor details (who-what-where-how much) and demonstrated a knowledge of the music with interesting anecdotes. It's also well edited; I made minor changes. Only one question: I changed your phrase "severe identity crisis" to "personal crisis". This cried out for explanation. Schumann suffered from madness brought on by tertiary syphilis. Enquiring minds want to know! Anyway, it's a very well done piece and will be in Wednesday's Lake Champlain Weekly. Thanks very much - I'm sure that you'll fill some seats with it. Caroline That's the email I received from the editor. :) Okay, back to being unprepared for lessons. Comment! (4) | Recommend! | Categories: good news [t], lake champlain [t], publish [t] |
